Compared
GS Venue Control is at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Old Trafford and the Allianz Stadium, and it claims the two things we claim: proof of play of everything displayed, and full redundancy with content in sync. This is the comparison we would give you on the phone.
First, fairly
Goal Sport are Czech, have been building venue software since 2006, and their reference list is the strongest in this market: Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Old Trafford, the Allianz Stadium and Olympiakos. A club that wants the software its peers already run has an easy argument for them.
GS Venue Control is a venue-wide system. Their site describes ribbon LEDs, perimeter screens and fascia boards with automatic scaling and copying between them, scoreboards, and video, audio and lighting managed from the same media control system. They also publish a sun shader feature for correcting visibility in open stadiums, which is a real problem nobody else names.
And they publish the two claims that matter commercially: proof of play of every piece of content displayed, and full redundancy with content and stage-of-play sync. We are not going to pretend those are marketing words: at that reference list they are in service.
Side by side
USM’s column is what our software does today. The Goal Sport Playout column is what their own site says, checked on 22 September 2026. Where it says their site does not state something, that is exactly what it means: ask them.
| USM Boarding | Goal Sport Playout | |
|---|---|---|
| Built for | The perimeter, fascia and ribbon. One licence covers one PC and up to nine screens. | The whole venue: ribbon LEDs, perimeter screens, fascia boards, scoreboards, plus video, audio and lighting from one media control system. |
| Fitting artwork to the wall | Artwork is laid onto the wall as a reusable sequence and prepared before it plays, at the wall’s exact pixel geometry. | Automatic scaling and copying of content between the screens, with a sun shader feature for open stadiums. |
| Redundancy | A backup PC mirrors the main one all match and takes the wall after about 5 s of silence on a 1 s heartbeat. | Full redundancy with content and stage-of-play sync. |
| Proof of play | Logged to 1/100 s per screen, exported per fixture as PDF or Excel. | Proof of play of every piece of content displayed. |
| Building content remotely | Projects are built in a browser and played out on the venue rig. The two stay in sync. | Their site does not state browser-based or remote project building. |
| LED hardware monitoring | Reads the NovaStar processors behind the wall: cabinets, temperature, main and backup cable, with email alerts and 13 months of history. | Their site does not state LED processor or cabinet monitoring. |
| Control-room integrations | NDI out, scoreboard and live text, Stream Deck through Companion, and an HTTP trigger API. | Scoreboard, video, audio and lighting control in the same system. |
| Price | Published, with a configurator. You can price a two-screen rig without talking to us. | Not published. Quoted on enquiry. |
| When the playout PC dies | The operator moves the licence to another PC themselves, twice in any six months. Support-assisted moves are never counted. | Their site does not state what happens to a licence when its machine is replaced. |
| Who supports it | Maxamaze BV in Belgium, which also installs and operates LED at venues. | Goal Sport Software, Czech Republic. |
Where they beat us
If you are buying one system for the perimeter, the ribbons, the scoreboard and the house lighting, they cover ground we do not. Our big-screen product is still in development and the rest of that list is not what we build.
Their footprint at the top of the game is something we cannot match today, and at a club where "who else runs it" decides the purchase, that is the argument.
Where we would put our case: the project is built in a browser so a marketing department can prepare a fixture without being at the ground, the proof-of-play log resolves to a hundredth of a second and exports as PDF or Excel per fixture, LED monitoring reads the NovaStar processors so a dark section of wall is diagnosed rather than argued about, the operator can move the licence to another PC themselves, and the price is on our website rather than behind an enquiry.
Which one
one system should drive the perimeter, the ribbons, the scoreboard and the lighting, and it matters to your board that the same software runs at Tottenham and Old Trafford.
the perimeter is the job you are solving, the fixture is prepared off-site by the people who own the sponsor relationships, and you want the wall itself watched and a price you can read before the first call.
